Book Blog: Book Snacks

Book Snacks

by Analee Suomynona

What is Book Snacks all about?

My blog is primarily a book blog, where I share the books I read and review. I love YA novels, and also occasionally read NA novels and middle-grade. The books I review are generally in the following genres: dystopia, paranormal, romance/contemporary, fantasy/urban fantasy, science-fiction, mystery and thrillers, and sometimes historical fiction.

Apart from book reviews, I post book news like casting updates, movie adaptations, etc. I also participate in weekly memes: Teaser Tuesdays, Top 10 Tuesdays, WWW Wednesday, That’s What He Said Thursday, Friday Finds, Exploring My Bookshelves (soon to be adapted to a monthly meme) and Shelf Candy Saturday. These memes are hosted by other blogs, and are super fun. Along with these memes I post book tags that I see around the blogging community. :D I also accept review copies from authors, and open to hosting blog tours, cover reveals or book blitzes.

How long have you been blogging?

I created my blog in February 2015, but abandoned it for around a month. Near the end of March I actually started to post things, and I've been posting ever since! I'm a very new blogger you can say, but the blogging community has been so welcoming it's like I've been blogging for years.

What made you start a blog and what drives you to continue?

I suppose I created a blog because I really wanted to share my thoughts on books with other people who might feel the same way about books that I do. I have friends who like to read, of course, but we didn't really talk about books much. :/ I have to thank my english teacher back in middle grade though, for first introducing me to Wordpress and blogging. (We had an assignment to create a blog and post stuff for our writing mark) :)

What drives me to continue... Well, I love to write, and I found my writing started getting much better as I started to blog more, and I found that was encouragement to continue. Other than that it always makes my day when I fangirl about books with other people, so that's another motivation. And lastly, I just love books, and writing about books is simply amazing.

Any tips for all the readers out there?

Don't judge a book by its cover! I know we all do (myself included), at least a little bit, and this is one thing we need to change. Beautiful covers don't guarantee great books, and not-so-beautiful covers often have a wonderful story in its pages.

Also, for reading slumps, I find that re-reading your favorite books often help! Or perhaps reading a book recently released. :)

As far as blogging tips goes, I suggest interacting with other blogs! Go over and say hi or like their posts, it'll always make someone's day, and may bring them over to your blog!

And lastly, when having trouble resisting book buying, set up a goal, or challenge for yourself: if you read 5 books you have already bought, you can buy another one, etc. Or start buying thrifted books! I haven't done much of thrifting myself, but I know many people who saved a lot by buying thrifted books, so that might be a good idea!

Book Blog: Books and Insomnia

Book Blog | Club Bookie

Books And Insomnia

by Julie Rimapula

What is Books and Insomnia all about?

Books and Insomnia features Young Adult and New Adult books in a variety of genres such as contemporary, fantasy, dystopian, romance, etc.

How long have you been blogging?

2 years and 3 months.

What made you start a blog and what drives you to continue?

I started a blog because I needed a place where I can vent and gush about the books I love and hate. What drives me to continue blogging is the knowledge that there are a lot of people who share my love for books, and meeting them. It's also nice to help authors, especially debut authors, spread the word about their books.

Any tips for all the readers out there?

Just read! It doesn't matter what or how you choose to read, whether you bought or you borrowed those books. We read because we love literature and knowledge. Never let anyone make you feel bad about your reading choices. Reading is your passion; enjoy it! :)

Book Blog: The Bibliophile Confessions

The Bibliophile Confessions

Run by Inah & Jem
Answers provided by Inah

What is your blog all about?

I mostly review Young Adult novels, ranging from contemporary, dystopian to paranormal/fantasy. Sometimes, I also do review New Adult novels. I also participate in Blog Tours and Bookish Memes! My blog serves as my outlet of my love and passion for books.

How long have you been blogging?

I've been blogging for a year now! Just celebrated my first blogoversary this May! For several months, I ran the blog by myself but last March, I've enlisted the help of my friend, Jem, as my co-blogger.

What made you start a blog and what drives you to continue?

I started having a blog on Tumblr around 2009. That blog was mostly full of random things like rants, Harry Potter and other things I liked. It was around 2012 that I made a personal blog on Wordpress with entries that discuss my personal life. I started to put some book reviews in it just to share my love for books to my followers. Then last year, I finally turned the blog from a personal one to a book blog.

The mere fact that I made a lot of friends and that we share the same passion for books is what drives me to continue blogging.

Any tips for all the readers out there?

Read, read, read. It doesn't matter whether it's on print or on your screen, whether it's fiction, non-fiction, or even educational. Just read. There are lots of lessons waiting to be learned from books. Reading is a learning process. If having a book in front of your nose all day makes you a nerd, then be proud to be a nerd. Be proud to be a bookworm.
